Datagate: Create Autotask API User

Scope
This article will show you how to create an API user in Autotask to set up the integration with Datagate.
Creating the API User
- Log in to Autotask
- Go to Admin > Account Settings & Users
- Click on Resources/Users
- Click the New Dropdown and select New API User
- On the Add API User modal, enter the following information:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Security Level: This must be set to API User (system)
- Scroll to the Credentials Section and Click Generate Key and Generate Secret to generate a random user and password.
NOTE: Make sure to document both of these in a safe place
- Scroll to the API Tracking Identifier section and select Integration Vendor and Select Datagate.
- You can now set up the integration in Datagate

This article will show you how to set up the Autotask integration in Datagate.
Requirements
- Admin Access to Datagate
- Create Autotask API User
Setting up the Autotask Integration
- Log in to Datagate
- Go to Settings
- Click on Integrations
- Click Configure on the Autotask option
- Enter the Username and Secret Key from your API User.
- Click the floppy disk to save.
- Click Test Account Access and if you get the green confirmation, you are good to go!
